If you liked Power Rangers: RPM, DO NOT WATCH GO-ONGER. Just don't.

Why is this? (I ask as someone who has never seen more than an episode or two of any Power Rangers aside from Mighty Morphin'.)

They are tonally so different. So very, very different. There are cases in which if you liked either the Sentai series, the Power Rangers series has enough similarity to give you a comparable experience (Hurricanger, Timeranger, Dekaranger). Then you have "I'm sorry, how, exactly, did you take THAT footage and make THIS show? The hell." This is Go-onger and RPM.

I mean, one expects some differences in story and characters between Sentai and Power Rangers. One does not expect bright cheerful Our Cars Have Eyes Look How Cute We Are to somehow get remade into So The Apocalypse Happened And Now We Have Superheroes.

...

That is pretty hilarious. (OTOH, they both sound just my speed, so I should dl Go-Onger, and see if Netflix has RPM...)

Haha, enjoy. :D (I was v. fond of RPM and more or less neutral-positive on Go-onger; I'd be curious to know how you feel about both series when you see them.)

If you're in the States, Netflix does in fact have RPM. Sadly, I cannot help you find Go-onger. :(

I'm actually in Canada, so I can't be sure it is, just because it's on the US list, but Netflix Canada does have a bunch of other Power Rangers, so the likelihood is high.

And I've got links to a bunch of groups who sub Sentai...sadly the group that did Go-Onger is my group of last resort, but, oh well.

Fingers crossed for Canadian Netflix.

...it was TVNihon, wasn't it. :( I'm sorry. (I commend their passion, dedication, and longevity, but their translations are truly awful.)

Yeah TVNihon it is. Better than no translation, but...yeah.

And, RPM is on Netflix...I'm a couple episodes in, now...and I laughed out loud when the Bear Crawler arrived, given the...less jokey than that design would suggest tone....also at the ridiculous overuse of the sepia filter in episode 1.

Yay, they have it! :D The show reaaaaaaally likes that sepia filter. (It might get better. I'm honestly not sure.) But yeah, the mecha designs are ever so slightly jarring. JUST A LITTLE.
