I've heard the phallic connection before but cigarettes are so small I can never take that idea seriously.

idk, I don't really buy the "cigarettes are like dicks" thing, either. The sucking can be hot but yeah they're too small.

It's not an exact thing, it's just a lot of individual elements that come together to make something hot. Like... lingerie. Or uniforms. Just taken on their own, there's nothing sexy about them. But you smash them together with a lot of cultural/social concepts and then stick them in a sexual context and suddenly you have something that a lot of people think is sexy.
