There is a 'cliffhanger', but in all honesty it's more "oh the story continues" and you sort of assume you know what there is at the end. It definitely feels resolved, to the point where it just feels like a 22 episode mini series rather than a definite cancellation.

The user above does not seem to like the finale, which I don't agree with. It isn't perfect, but it is satisfying and leaves you feeling like it's complete but there's a lot of room to theorise for more. I personally don't find it out of character.

I definitely think you should give it a shot.

Seeing this just made me realize that I kind of made the show sound not worth watching because I don't like the finale. So allow me to second the sentiment that you should give the show a look. Just because I didn't like the finale doesn't mean you won't, and the rest of it is worth watching in my opinion. Besides, the more "Forever" fans, the better.
