esteefee: Amanda from Highlander giving sardonic smirky smile (amanda)

I enjoyed it a lot. I loved how uptight Henry is, his wonderful relationship with his son, Abe, and the excellent cop character, Jo, played by Alana De La Garza. I didn't like the endless game of him keeping his secret from her but I get it. He has a hell of a lot to fear, as we learn in flashbacks. They definitely do a great job of giving you the scope of his age and experience -- kind of like Highlander, but not as cheesy.

Henry's a bit of a know-it-all but kind of adorable anyway. And I loved his dorky assistant, too; I remember the actor as a very depressed forensic scientist from Bones. He's a little more upbeat as a coroner here.

Abe (played by Judd Hirsch) really makes the show, though. I also really liked Jo's lieutenant, played by Lorraine Toussaint.
