Re: Based on #7
Re: Based on #7
The son of a family friend (his name is Mark) worked on that movie as a historical consultant, and he said Jason Isaacs was a great guy behind the scenes, very down to earth, always ate meals with the crew, very easy-going but professional, and best of all (in Mark's eyes) he actually was interested and paid close attention when Mark would talk to him about history. Mel Gibson, on the other hand, didn't give a shit.
Mark has this fun story of eating lunch with Jason Isaacs one day on set and saying something to him like, "You're such a nice guy, I can't believe you're always playing villains," and in a split second, Isaacs fixed him with the coldest stare he'd ever seen. Mark thought he had somehow offended him terribly and was about to get punched, the energy coming from him was so tense and unnerving. Then Isaacs laughed and the tension deflated, and Mark realized he had just "switched on" his character for a moment.
I thought that was cool. :)
