True! I'm just pointing out that their actual justifications seem, for the most part, to be totally different from the frankly bizarre "being related to a man is bad!" strawman. It may be a misplaced desire to not want Rey Skywalker, but at least I can understand where they're coming from. I don't even understand what the person I was replying to was trying to insinuate.

Fair point.

I'd guess they may be conflating the small few radical feminists who have undoubtedly joined the fandom since Rey - Small but fucking vocal - with the larger numbers of new fans who just don't like the Skywalker story.

I think I'm broadly on you side, but I can't say I don't see where the confusion comes from.
