I'm not a parent

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
So you reply there saying "same, but not as a parent. More sort of as a dumbass idiot who wanders by". It is all variation on the same theme, and it keeps the replies threaded and works as part of a discussion instead of just putting in another essentially the same but with slight variation subpost.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I read the post and I didn't think it was relevant

sorry, babe

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a damn lie on both counts and you know it. You wanted your own quick reply which you wanted everyone else to read but not to be a second commenter in a thread. THat is a shit thing to do in a community like this.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
it's not a lie

I really did read the post before I responded and I really didn't think it was relevant

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You didn't think a subcomment about a comedic death was relevant to your subcomment about a comedic death? Bull-fucking-shit. You didn't read, you just fired off a comment without a thought to actually contributing and participating in a discussion.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
in my mind, the early death specifically to raise the stakes was the main part

I think you're really overestimating how much effort I put into thinking up my post

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
And that is the motherfucking point. The low level of effort you put in, dummy. That is how we get just lists of unread subcomments and no community engagement. Fucking think more. Next time read, apply a bit of common sense and tag in at the earliest opportunity to an existing comment. Participate in a discussion instead of just making a throwaway comment that you hope other people with tag into. Quit trying to be the subthread initiator.

I'd rather have 50 people who don't spend that much time thinking about their posts than one cuntmuffin like you.

+1. Sorry, OP, didn't put much thought into this +1.

....why do you care?

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I'm fucking sick of coming to FS to try and find discussions an instead just finding lists individual replies to top level comments because people could either not bother to read prior replies or refuse to be the second or third man in a thread. Lists are boring.

If you want discussion, make a topic for people to talk about. Or, you could throw a hissy fit because someone made a reply to a post that is vaguely similar to someone else's.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
See, that is the problem. You cannot make a topic for people to talk about if they are not going to get into discussion in the replies. It doesn't matter what you ask or talk about if people are just going to put their own top subcomment reply in instead of participating in a subthread without worrying about being the starter themselves.

Yeah, how dare someone not reply 'Me too' to a thread that is vaguely similar to their own reply. HOW DARE THEY!

And that isn't a problem. You are just being lazy and argumentative. Go take a nap or watch a funny video. Or help create actual discussion.

You need physical therapy too, if you are leaping in to defend the integrity of the current status quo. This has been a substantial discussion thread, so objective achieved on that. Now if only other people would help out by putting in their me-too's and explaining any slight differences so that that it could help foster discussion on those variations in a thread.

If I am good at leaping...I think that'd be an indication I don't need physical therapy?

Yes, I am so glad you were able to foster discussion around the fact you can't read comments and don't understand the difference between the first and third one. This has been such a fantastic contribution to the community. How would we have EVER survived without this titillating conversation?

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
oh my goooooooodddddddddd

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Not...really? Like, how is it shitty? The original commenter laid out a very specific scenario that didn't fit with this commenter. Ergo, new thread that you're free to ignore, but you're not, drawing even more attention to it, probably to the detriment of the first comment.

In short, if anyone's being a comm-shitting jerk, it's you.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the white knighting. Have anything to actually add instead of plunging in to be the hero of the internet that we neither need nor deserve right now? Why don't you go get your physical therapist to work on that kneejerk of yours.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, someone's desperate for attention. Ironic, considering your initial complaint.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
So that is a solid no on the contributions you intend to make, glad we've cleared that up. Why don't you go do the thing we aren't allowed to tell people to do these days.

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
IDK, I think pointing out your histrionic hypocrisy makes for a valuable post. Plus, lookee here! Look at all these glorious subthread responses you've gotten! I'd ask if you were happy now, but I'm pretty sure the answer is always a big surly "NO!"

Re: Horror movies

(Anonymous) 2017-05-28 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, they are not happy. They won't be until someone says something to make them feel personally victimized. That is the attention they are waiting for.
