(Anonymous) 2017-05-29 05:13 am (UTC)(link)I'm just curious why this has suddenly become such a big deal for some commenters. I've been following this comm for a few years and only recently posted a secret, and while mine was specific, I'm pretty sure vague secrets have always been a thing here. Why the sudden outcry?

(Anonymous) 2017-05-29 05:28 am (UTC)(link)Wanting to make the secret more general in an attempt to open up discussion, wanting to avoid getting nasty comments in their secret threads about the number of secrets submitted recently about their fandom, wanting to avoid getting nasty "what is this garbage and why should I care?" comments about obscure fandoms, simply wanting to vent without drawing up a timeline of their fandom's drama...
Not to mention that you don't have to be important to be recognized. If I anonymously mention details of fandom drama on a community I know my fandom friends read... yeah, there's a risk that they might put the pieces together, especially the fandom we share is a small one.
There have been many reasons for making vague secrets explained over the past several posts. You simply don't want to hear them because of your bizarre grudge. There is nothing inherently pretentious, affectedly quirky, or self-important about making vague secrets, and it is frankly absurd to insist that there is. I'm not sure if it's sadder if you're just trolling, or if you're genuinely this enraged by people making secrets that don't entertain you personally.

(Anonymous) 2017-05-29 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)Secondly, this teehee tone mostly exists in your own head. The baggage you're bringing to this topic is messing with your ability to view these secrets objectively. Everything seems like a personal slight to you when the truth is, most secret makers aren't thinking of you at all!
That is, until recently, because you've been such a pissbaby about vague secrets that now people are making them just to annoy you. Congratulations? And maybe consider therapy for this weird hang up?
