But there are lots of fudanshi who identify as straight? What you like in your porn doesn't necessarily translate to the kind of relationship you personally want to be in. Especially when we're talking cartoon art styles vs. real life, or romantic/kinky love stories.

I don't "get off" to it but I'm asexual and am fine with any kind of shipping or porn. I like characters finding other characters attractive or being romantic with them. They're not me. They have their own desires and attractions. That is okay.

I have never once looked around in real life and thought "I find this other person attractive or would want to be in a sexual relationship with them."

They're separate things.

In fact, the asexuality is what might be making me open to all sorts of shipping or porn. Since the "I want to fuck that" is something I never do anyway and I have no personal preferences, it's easy for me to imagine any combination of sexes or genders wanting to fuck another in any which way since "sexual desire for another" is something I can lump into one big blurry category. Guy/guy, girl/girl, other/other, whatever, isn't the motivation the same desire thing that I don't have, manifested in various ways? There's less gating of what stories I can like because I'm not specifically attracted to any one thing or specifically not attracted to any one thing.
