Oh come on. While I'm not denying the possibility of the white (or light-skinned) bias, the type of character that Kylo Ren is is ALWAYS popular in fandom - the young bad boy with a possibly weepy past they can woobify. This would only be comparable if the two characters were similar, but they are totally different.
