But do they? I remember Hasbro telling us everyone was buying Bumblebee toys from transformers when they were being dumped back on the shelves by people hunting for Knock Out or Arcee toys. Corporate were insisting Bumblebee toys were selling like hotcakes, but we were dumping them into the reduced to clear bins by the bucket load because we needed to get them off the shelves so we could open new cases and get the shortpacked toys that people wanted onto the shelves.

It would not surprise me to learn that the Kylo toys were getting the same message, especially since most stores went all in on the pre-publicity of Kylo being a dark and powerful badass like Vader before it emerged that the twist was he was an emokid wimp. Corporate has got a lot of ego in the game here on how well some toys sell.
