"I miss seeing this particular person's commentary on my favorite fandoms" =/= "this person totes sucks and I don't want to see anything they post about ever again," yo

I know that feel. I just usually tend to continue to follow them anyway in case they ever get back into the fandom I like.

Personally, I switch fandoms like every 4-6 months, so I wonder if any of my followers have felt the same about me...

What I do is that I block certain tags so I don't see stuff that doesn't interest me on my dashboard. But that way I can keep following them in case they do post about things I like again.

Yup.

I also do this if someone posts about ships I'm really not into so that I can still enjoy the stuff they post about that I like.

Yep, this is what I do. my tumblr savior blacklist is huge.

After a certain point, if it's clear they just aren't posting anything I'm interested in, I'll unfollow them. Or if they don't tag their stuff well enough. That's a pet peeve of mine.

Half the people reading this are thinking "is this person talking about me?"

Because we're all either one or the other.

IDK you could try getting to know this person on a deeper level, show some interest in their personal life if they post about that instead of treating them only as a source of information in one fandom. Or try posting more on the subject yourself because maybe they're not reblogging what you want because they're not seeing anything about it on their dash either. Or not, whatever. The point is, it happens and we're all either you or the person this post was about.
