I also do this if someone posts about ships I'm really not into so that I can still enjoy the stuff they post about that I like.

After a certain point, if it's clear they just aren't posting anything I'm interested in, I'll unfollow them. Or if they don't tag their stuff well enough. That's a pet peeve of mine.

IDK you could try getting to know this person on a deeper level, show some interest in their personal life if they post about that instead of treating them only as a source of information in one fandom. Or try posting more on the subject yourself because maybe they're not reblogging what you want because they're not seeing anything about it on their dash either. Or not, whatever. The point is, it happens and we're all either you or the person this post was about.
