I still love Third Eye Blind, but I definitely didn't listen to them as a preteen (did you, really?). I think I was fourteen or fifteen before I got into their first album.

Oh yeah sorry, I was definitely in my teens. I think it's just because the term 'pre-teen' is a bit unfamiliar to me, I read it as 'teen'.

Haha, no problem, just checking. It's funny because, I mean, these days kids probably listen to the most explicit music they can find, just because they can. But 3EB still feels kind of "mature" to me in a particular way that I wouldn't expect a kid to resonate with. Like, Losing A Whole Year, about the slow death of a relationship where the guy laments that his girlfriend doesn't get wet for him anymore but she always used to. Or all of the euphoric but sort of fucked up drug references in Semi-Charmed life.
