I try to not freak out at drinkers and smokers but my mom is dying and her brother and both parents died of alcohol-caused nastiness, and my dad died after a decade or so of drug-induced/exacerbated (docs where still trying to figure out which when he downed most of his pills at a go and walked out onto the freeway and got squashed) paranoid schizophrenia. And a lot of his family had emphysema and lung and pancreatic cancer from smoking. My best friend's dad died of COPD from smoking last November. I don't really care about pot except the smell is a migraine trigger for me and given that my dad's grandma was also schizophrenic I should probably avoid tempting fate.
