Re: Controversial Opinions

Well for me, both my paternal grandparents died early of lung/throat cancer due to their smoking habits.

While I would never go up and say anything to a smoker (it is their life, after all), cigarettes ARE bad and gross in my mind. Nothing like seeing people you love being shades of their former selves then dying right before your eyes to create a gut reaction.

So I'll stay lame, thanks.

Not to be a dick or anything, but you realise unless someone dies suddenly that's what you will see in most ways an eledery person goes.

Like if cancer - cigarette related or not - doesn't get you, something equally nasty and soul draining will. Dementia is a real fucker, for example.

I understand the emotional reaction, but i cant get there myself, its not the cigarettes that did that, its the dying. Very few of us are lucky enough to die in good health.

My opinion is, while I'm no a smoker, I can't judge anyone of any choice that makes their short life even a little more content. No-one gets out of life alive after all, and I'd rather die younger and happier than make it into the record books for the longest fight against death.

I suppose what I'm driving at is that sad tho it is, you grand folks died how we all do, but how did they live? Did cigarettes give them any joy or comfort?

DA well it made tmy grandparents poor and miserable. My grandfather had an immense love of life and he died from lung cancer decades before his time still telling us he wasn't ready and had stuff he still wanted to do.

Such a fucking waste. All because he got addicted to fucking cigarettes before people knew the truth about them then couldn't kick the addiction.
