Thank you everyone for your kindness on Tuesday. I'm a total basket case cleaning my house and putting away Tilda's things where I can't see them. It's too painful to see them right now.

I may adopt another kitten from the nearby no kill shelter in the future. Just not right now. I'm too raw.

Again, thank you FS for your kindness when I fell apart.

I'm sorry for your loss OP, loosing a pet is always hard and I get needing to put away their things. It hurts too much at first.

Get a new kitten if and when you're ready, don't rush it, and I wish you all the best.

If and when you do get another cat down the line, getting one from a shelter sounds like a lovely idea :).

I'm so sorry for your loss. And I understand about not wanting to see her things. When I lost my cat Hobbes, I couldn't bear to be in my bedroom (which was "her" room.) I slept on the couch for almost a week.

People will probably give well-meaning but utterly infuriating advice on how to "get over" your loss, and sometimes that includes pressuring you to get a new cat before you're emotionally ready. As if that would fill the hole in your life. When you're ready for a kitten, when it won't be just another reminder of your loss, you'll know it.
