As long as it's not a struggle for you to not be attracted to real teenagers, I don't even think you need to try to fix your feelings about ones that aren't real. If "it's fiction" isn't enough of a reason, think of it this way: the characters didn't grow from being real kids into real teens with real teenage brains. They're concepts fully formed by adults, and even the best characterization is sometimes going to reflect the fact that they're really just ideas of what adults think teenagers are like, so naturally other adults are sometimes going to find them attractive when a real teenager would never be.

There are definitely a lot of writers who are guilty of writing teenagers as the wrong age bracket, I find it varies between writing them like they're fully adult or writing them like they are a little kid.

As someone who works with teenagers, characterization that swings wildly between being fully adult and being a little kid is TOTALLY accurate to what teens are like in real life. :-)

I hear that this is what Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar asks the SU scriptwriters and editors to do with her main character, IIRC.

tbh as long as they don't act on their attraction towards teens (like any sane adult) even having the attraction is fine. it's not people have control over what they're attracted to.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

I will say even knowing this, it was a relief going to a convention and being surrounded by real teenagers and gladly realizing I'd never in a million years be attracted to them, no matter how much I might crush on Jack Frost or other stupid sexy teens.

lol true though.

There's those awkward moments in like anime when you're like, shit, I'm falling in love with a beautiful teenager and I'm a monster.

then you remember real life teenagers. and realize you're doing just fine.

Which is why Tumblr teenagers who threaten adults for drawing porn of anime teenagers because they think it makes them "pedophiles" need to calm down. We have negative interest in fucking any of you snot-nosed brats, okay, get over yourselves.

So true. Also I am very short and kind of babyfaced so there were these kids trying to flirt with me and I'm going I need a shirt that says "I'm in my 30s and married (and faithful)."
