Trying to lose weight. I know I should just learn to accept my body as is. I have a balanced diet. I exercise 3-4 times a week. My weight is at a healthy place. But there is still a part of me that wants to reach my long standing goal of 110 lbs (I'm at 124 right now).

The only way to lose weight at this point is to count calories, which I hate.

Calorie counting anon, I think about you from time to time and I always hope that you get the help that you need.

Sorry. I'm not that anon. This is the first time I've ever talked about it on here.

Okay. But going by what you've said in your original comment, I still hope you get the help you need, because your situation sounds similar.

You do not need to lose weight, don't sacrifice your healthy habits for unhealthy ones in favor of a goal you don't need to reach.

This.

How tall are you? (Do you need to be 110?)

(Anonymous) 2017-06-03 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm 5'1. I don't need to be 110 lbs, but it's been my long term goal for 8 years. I'm already down 45 lbs from when I first began. When I got my 40 hour/week desk job, my progress stopped and I'm getting to the age when it get's harder and harder to lose weight.

Cutting back on your calories too much also makes it harder to lose weight, too. It messes with your body's metabolism and it's only going to slow down even more to prevent you from starving. It sounds like you know this goal isn't really all that good for you, but you're determined to meet it anyway? Personally, I think it's a better idea to aim for being healthy rather than counting your success solely by weight loss.

124 is not overweight for your height.

I have a balanced diet. I exercise 3-4 times a week. My weight is at a healthy place.

You're doing great!
