Yeah I don't get the torture porn horror either and I like horror.

I can deal with gore but I also don't find it scary or interesting? It just feels unnecessary when it's excessive.

And torture is just like, I don't find that at all interesting to watch either.

I prefer horror that's more of a creepy story then anything else.

I actually have some morbid curiosity in creepy stuff. I'd still say I'm a wimp, but I have a lot of respect for "horror" genre movies that don't have gore or jump scares, they just have a creepy atmosphere.

For torture though, it makes me severely uncomfortable. I don't care how unlikable a character is, it's not something I'm okay with watching.
