I never used to like country music either, anon, but I kind of accidentally got into it about ten years ago. It was a slow process though. I followed some indie pop artists that I loved into their solo work which happened to be quite country (The Decemberists>Tarkio, The New Pornographers>Neko Case) and that got me used to that kind of music a bit, and then I found Jason Molina and listened like crazy to his entire oeuvre, which was another step to going full country. Then I found the Drive-By Truckers, Lucero, and The Devil Makes Three and realised how good americana and cowpunk were. Now I love proper country like Chris Knight and Cody Jinks. Whenever I'm with a friend and music is on, they always say that's a bit too country and it always surprises me because it no longer sounds like country music to me, it's just...music. Anyway, the moral of this story is that...sometimes tastes can change?

I was the way where I slowly got into it. My parents listened to it and it was just on around the house and I found some songs fairly catchy. If you look hard you can find some really good ones hidden.

I hadn't heard of Lucero until Logan Mize sang about them.

ayrt

I've never heard of Logan Mize. Could you point me to the song in which Lucero is mentioned?
