Doubt anyone's too invested but, friend who suddenly cut off contact with no warning/explanation is still no-contact. After the one attempt at messaging I have not bothered them. I had a good cry, and (mostly) made peace with the idea that if they really valued our friendship they would have made some sort of attempt, but they didn't and that's on them. It still sucks, but I will live.
