How much money do you spend weekly on food?

Including grocery, eating out, etc.

Just for food? Around $70 for two people.

Too much and at the same time, not enough.

Don't vote Tory on Thursday.

I try to keep it under $20 a week. Ideally, it is $10 a week or even less. Yes, I am poor.

This is making me feel bad because I spend between $50-70 weekly on just me. And that's just on groceries (I never eat out). I used to be able to keep it around $20-35, but once I started to eat healthier it skyrocketed.

It's interesting you say that, because I eat pretty healthy - mostly make things myself rather than buy premade/frozen or whatever, usually eat salad one meal a day, and I manage to keep my bill pretty low.
Then again, when it comes to groceries, not buying the expensive fruits/vegetables makes a huge difference...

Where you are also makes a huge difference. Transport costs, import costs, and storefront rental cost play a pretty huge role in how much food costs, so depending on your area, even the cheap fruits/vegetables can run your grocery bill pretty high.

Yeah... I'm lucky that I have one of those cheapo supermarkets near me. The quality of the produce sucks, but at least it's inexpensive.

I do feel like cost of living plays a significant role here that's also very hard to adjust for

It depends. Right now, a buttload (probably $80-100).

But of I'm actively trying to keep to a budget, I would say like... 50 or 60.

Honestly about $20-30/week but I eat at my parents' house a few nights a week. Realistically, it's about $150-200/month because the weeks vary too much and sometimes I'll pick up food for my parents. During the summer it goes down about $10/week because I work for a farm and don't pay for vegetables.

$100 every two weeks so...50/week for 2 people?

though I don't know what my partner spends on lunch when she's at work. she wastes more money than I do on fast food, I never eat out.

I usually go every two weeks or so and spend around $50-60? I don't eat out. Once in a blue moon I'll buy myself a diet coke for lunch, but that's about it.

Oh dear, I'm going to expose myself as a spendthrift... Over the course of a year, I average about $130/week, and I'm one person. It's my biggest extravagance. I otherwise live within my means, have no debt, and have a decent salary, so I don't hesitate to get fresh flowers, good cheese, good cuts of meat, etc. whenever I want them.

Yeah, I'm not even well off enough to justify it, but food is probably my biggest expense too. I don't eat out often now that I'm done with school; when I was on campus from 8:30-7:00 four days a week I usually bought a burrito and brought fruit. Now that I'm done I just cook a lot.

We average about £80 per week for three people, so ~£27 each?

Like $140 or so? I'm a busy man with a high calorie need, I don't have the time to cook I'd like okay.
