God... so my gf and I had an apartment locked down for months now, and they had told us that we would not need a cosigner, and we were gonna sign the lease on the 10th... Until Friday, when they called and said we DID need a cosigner and needed to provide one in 4 days. What. The fuck. Of course no one I know can do it with that short notice, even though at least one of my relatives I know would have been willing had we been given more warning. Not to mention they never answer their goddamn phone (we kept trying to call and ask questions) and when you go to them in person they are understaffed and take forever to get to you, and even then haven't really answered our question of how the fuck did they fail to tell us this.

So after a couple days of panic we have decided to take it as a sign, and we will be looking for a place that is cheaper and also doesn't have an unorganized, understaffed management team. I am living with my mom at the moment (recent college grad) and she is very chill and has said my gf can stay here while we look for a new place and regroup, since her lease is ending at the end of this month. She will have to get a storage unit for her stuff, but the bad part is - she has a cat that there is NOT room for at my mom's house atm. She is looking for friends who she can pay to keep her for a a month or two, and some people have said they would see if they could, but GOD this is a shitty situation.

That sucks. I'm sorry. Sounds like it would not have been a good place to rent, though. I hope everything works out for you two.

Yep, at this point I'm more mad that this wasted so much of our time, rather than the place, because if they do stuff like this... Like the place itself was nice but I don't want to be having to deal with shitty management.

As terrible as that is, at least you found out now that they're a terrible management company.

Yep! Lesson learned, just wish it had come out sooner so we could have been looking for a new place.
