Same. There's this tiny fandom known probably by like three people, so there's point no telling the fandom's name because nobody here would know it. But still, I want to have discussions about it, so vague secrets are the way to go.

I can see how that must work, yeah. I generally skip secrets where I either can't ID the fandom (e.g. most anime), or else I don't care for it (e.g. Supernatural) or about it (e.g. Harry Potter).

Also, I know how you feel. Small fandoms are a real struggle sometimes.

I think some people who don't like vague secrets don't like them because they can't decide whether they agree with you or not since a lot of things depend on context. People like being able to tell other people that they are wrong, on the internet and in real life.

I think it can work, as long as the secret has some substance it doesn't matter if the fandom is mentioned or not.
