Martin Hughes-Games from Springwatch tweeted that the reason he keeps missing cues for his live broadcast sections in the field (and often in a field) is due to the BBC's 4 second transmission delay policy. It is a rule in place for all "Factual" broadcasts (usually stuff like reporters covering protests and other volatile situations) but apparently also applies to Springwatch broadcasts because... reasons. Presumably to stop us seeing hot stoat on stoat action?

Personally I think he keeps missing his cues from the studio is because he isn't paying attention, but if he wants to go with the 4 second delay for live programming then I'll roll with it. I like Springwatch.

How come we never get Springwatch secrets?
