Whatchu Writing?

I'm working on a short thing for a collection call based on gift-giving/stocking stuffers etc.

Anyone else use mywriteclub.com? I love the sprinting feature since I'm terrible about being distracted and the little timer keeps me in line.

Also, what's your favourite sites for digging up character names? I literally have my guy being called [name] right now because I don't know what suits him yet.

I'm writing some utterly self-indulgent FFXV fic (set a bit before the game) where Noctis gets sick and sneaks out to crash Prompto's place because Ignis is hovering and annoying him, lmao. Spoilers: Prompto is really not good at taking care of a sick person.

It's very pretty! It's a lot of fun, too. The battle system's flashy and fun, the music is amazing, and it's a great world to explore. The story is... convoluted, and they definitely dropped the ball in a couple of places, but the characters genuinely make up for it. I'm totally invested.

Right now just pecking away as a couple fanfics, a lazy sickfic and a shipfic. Thinking of signing up for another exchange, even if the last one was disappointing. It would be nice to stretch my legs a little, creatively.

Ok, replying to myself and kind of cranky. I saw Elsa/Kristoff on the list of ineligible pairs and I just want to know WHERE?! Where is this treasure trove of Elsa/Kristoff fic? Because it's not ff.net and it's not Ao3

I have no time for writing right now. I have a Sauron post-Luthien incident fic started, but I haven't had time to write more than a few paragraphs.

Since I write mostly Tolkien, I use elvish language sites to come up with names that mean what I want them to mean. Occasionally I'll use black speech as well, if, say, I'm naming orcs or balrogs.

Name Site Suggestion

I use Behind the Name (especially this section: https://www.behindthename.com/info/themes), and pick a name that's period and region appropriate, while also ideally relating to the character in some way (personality, occupation, maybe even hair color). A bit on the nose, maybe, but it works for me.

Fanfiction- Steven Universe fic where Yellow Diamond shattered Pink Diamond using the Diamond Communicator's remote detonation. The Rose Quartz that Eyeball and the others saw was just another pink colored gem shape shifted to frame Rose.

Other- Historical fiction based on the journal my grandfather's aunt wrote during the late 1890s & early 1900s in Oklahoma.
