I feel like everyone has that one friend who got really into jpop or kpop and ditched anyone who wasn't, or at least it seems to me like a fairly common experience.

AYRT - I can see that; the fans I knew were definitely VERY into it, to the point where I think they did alienate non-fans.

It just sucks because again, we were close. I get some of my friends drifting once our fandoms changed, but we'd talked about meeting IRL someday and everything.

Haha, I had someone on my LJ friends list back in the day who lectured everyone about how they were unsophisticated heathens if they didn't like KPop. It turned into a big heartfelt essay and everything. It was UNACCEPTABLE for it not to be your cup of tea because that just meant you didn't know any better, blah blah blah.

This woman was in her mid to late twenties, and she was like this about everything she loved.
