American TV is absolutely CLOTTED with car commercials. it kills me because most of the people I know can't afford new cars.

Also, when they can afford it, it's on a long cycle. Generally when people I know buy a new car, they don't plan on replacing it for at least a decade (barring accidents). Mine turned 10 years old last month and I have no reason to replace it. It must be hard being a car dealer because it's too expensive an item and takes up too much space to be an impulse buy for most people. There's just no way to market to people who flat out don't have the need or the money or the space for a new car. The best you can do is try to convince people in the market for a car to buy one from you and not the competition.

Ha, all my coworkers are all about leasing new cars and are about name brand cars (Lexus, BMW, Cadillac, Audi). They get new cars every 3 years.

Meanwhile, my car is 9 years old and the AC is slowly on fritz and I'm at the point of how much money do I put in to the car before I need to replace it?
