My one coworker and I trade leftover foods. His family doesn't care for leftovers, so I usually get them and then I love to bake and try new recipes so I always share with him first.

This is kind of sad but also kind of cute--my mom is an alcoholic and dying of cirrhosis and a couple of different cancers. She quit her job a few years ago when she'd missed so many days of work, between chemo and benders, that she was in danger of being fired anyhow. I look a lot like her, and I have basically the same job she used to, and every so often, I work at the location she spent 16 years at. I occasionally get customers asking after her, or thinking I look familiar and asking if I'm related, or even occasionally thinking I am her. Well, today, I had maybe seven people, pretty much one after another, say how much they missed her and how helpful and cheerful and what a great person she was and wishing her all the best and I kept getting sniffly. I wish I could've filmed everyone's good wishes to show her while she's still lucid enough to appreciate it. I'd almost like to ask the manager at that location if I could leave a card for people to sign to her.

We went into 2.5 hours of lunch penalty on Wednesday (that's a LOT of lunch penalty). Due to a number of factors, this meant I was making $61.50 an hour for like two hours of the afternoon. It was glorious.
