Is this not the case for non-Netflix shows?

(Anonymous) 2017-06-12 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Nielsen stats are wayyyyyy less exact than Netflix stats

(Anonymous) 2017-06-12 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
More or less, but like the other anon said, Netflix has direct access to a lot more viewing statistics than network shows do. They know who's watching, and when, and how many times, etc. That's why suggesting that they'd need a petition to figure out that people care about a show isn't very accurate.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-12 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That doesn't mean it's pointless to make your dissatisfaction known.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-12 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
And where did I say it was pointless? I said I thought a petition was unlikely to work and that Netflix didn't need a petition to gauge the level of interest for the show because they already had access that information directly. If fans want to start a petition just to make their voices heard or to make themselves feel better, then power to them.

You were replying to a comment that was replying to a comment suggesting that petitions aren't going to work.

Ineffective for its intended purpose isn't the same thing as pointless. I state other possible uses in the comment you're replying to.
