Oh, FFS. Most everyone was being so reasonable until this point. Even if I closed my eyes, I could still hear everything. Unless I also stuck my fingers in my ears and said "LA LA LA" at the same time. Which might, perhaps, be annoying to the people around me.

I'm not saying that they have to stop making trailers that give away points of the movie. I know some people enjoy those trailers, and that is totally fine. I'm just saying that it isn't always possible to be able to avoid them.

You can get a bag of disposable foam ear plugs for less than a dollar. No need to la-la-la. And you can use them when your neighbor mows the lawn at 6am too. Close your eyes, plug your ears, and you've taken responsibility for avoiding spoilers at the movies.

My mom regularly wears foam earplugs while watching the actual movie at our local movie theater, and she can always hear it just fine, so this technique won't actually work unless your theater is a lot quieter than mine is.
