Dwalin's actions/positioning at the end of the third Hobbit movie. I know they wanted him out of the way so that Thorin would die and not have backup but I genuinely don't understand Dwalin's movements within the end scenes. They don't make sense to me. He just kind of disappears for a while, when he shouldn't, and when he does come back the direction he comes back from makes no sense.

... I mean, I know there's a lot wrong with the movies in general but this is the issue I get hung up on the most for some reason.

That scene was so dumb. The king, his heirs, and his personal guard should not have been running rogue on some kind of black-op mission in the middle of a heated battle. They should have had them fight with the rest of the army and Thorin should've died in battle while everyone else fought desperately to get to him.
