At this point I'm not convinced Death Stranding will have gameplay.

It's funny you say that because I thought RE7 was the first RE game in a long while to really recapture that atmosphere of tension that the early RE games had. I enjoyed 4-6 but I felt they were moving too far away from the series survival horror roots and into action.

This. I haven't had the cash for the full game yet but I finally played the free demo the other week and knowing I eventually had to go down into that basement made me way more anxious than anything RE has done for yeeeaars.

Hmm, I thought RE7 was actually pretty good with the atmosphere and keeping it legit scary without resorting to a lot of jumpscares.

Although I was irritated by how short it was and that they had the gall to charge extra for DLC when the main game is only 10 hours long.

Yeah, that was my one complaint about it too. It was great but it really needed to be longer.

RE7 was good but I'm tired of it and other games trying to be the next silent hills/PT. it's not going to happen. That shit was lightning in a bottle and all the stuff trying to be it fall really flat. Layers of fear was boring, The Park was awful, RE gonna RE, and Allison Road is trying to combine FNAF with PT which is two different styles of horror, and while Visage looks promising who knows what the final product will be.

While I'm glad PT/Silent Hills and it's sub-consequent cancellation has basically revived the survival horror market, now everything is too busy trying to be the new PT without really getting it and what made it scary or try matching it beat for beat. I hated outlast ii, mostly because it was terrible, but at least it wasn't trying to be the next PT.

This secret makes 0 sense. Konami owns the Silent Hill IP. It was cancelled due to the issues between Kojima and Konami and Kojima's subsequent departure. Just because it was a PS4 exclusive doesn't mean Sony was involved in its production. Sony picked up Kojima and are now making Death Stranding.

And Capcom developed/published Resident Evil and has always owned the IP? If you were treating it as a replacement that's entirely your fault.

yeah i'm confused. sony has nothing to do with konami making major bad decisions. (and if not for sony we probably won't even have death stranding for quite a looong time.)

This broke my heart. I don't think I've ever been so gutted over something getting cancelled.
