North and South was/is one of my favorites. But yeah, Robin Hood... I couldn't get through all of that, not even for Richard Armitage.

AYRT

I eventually even read the book - North and South, I mean.

Robin Hood was something else. I mean Richard Armitage with longish hair and dressed in leather is nice, but not nice enough to get through season 3.

BTW, did you know that Richard Armitage did audiobooks?

I enjoyed the book, too. Slightly different, but still a good read and an interesting glimpse into that time period.

I stuck out Robin Hood until the episode where he was shirtless... but yeah, it was just too corny for me. Ooh, audiobooks! I wouldn't mind that...

Let's just say I prefer Jane Austen's style. Gaskell is way too didactic for my taste, but that's personal, I guess.

I think he's read mainly books by Georgette Heyer, which are not really my thing but I like his voice, it's very soothing.
