Re: Trends you don't understand

Plus size skinny jeans. I don't get skinny jeans in general, but why would stores think I would want skinny jeans? How do they possibly look good on larger women? Give me my bootcut jeans.

Jumpsuits. Jumpsuits are rarely attractive and they make going to the bathroom difficult. Who wants that? Who wants their shirt attached to their pants if they are older than, say, 5?

Dropcrotch pants. Why are they a fashion thing? Does anyone actually wear them?

Jumpsuits, ugh. I have a long torso so the ONE time I tried one on to see what it looked like on me, I had to hunch over in order to not have the world's biggest wedgie...

I'm just fat. And I'm larger at the top than the bottom. So jumpsuits would never fit me anyway because my large chest means that the right size for the bottom would be too tight. And jumpsuits emphasize exactly what I don't want to. Even a jumpsuit that emphasizes legs will also emphasize the wider parts on everyone.

Hmmm, maybe. I don't know. I just know I look awful in them. I guess if there were plus size women with skinny legs? Because I find they just make my likes look wider and therefore emphasize my size.

Probably just a personal taste thing. I know some ppl find them slimming and some ppl feel like you do. Different strokes and all that.

You may be right. And I always forget that not every plus size woman has huge calves like I do. Anything that is tight at the bottom is going to look awful on me.

I have huge calves and tried on skinny jeans... they fit very weirdly in the calves. I prefer bootcut, too.

I'm plus size, and I like my skinny jeans. But it might be because my legs are actually decent? I don't have a car, so I walk everywhere, and thus my calves are pretty awesome and the rest of my legs aren't bad either. I just carry extra weight in my belly (which is awful for me, ugh) and my breasts (also not great for my back, yay?), so it doesn't really affect me with skinny jeans vs. bootcut.

That makes sense. I do have pretty big legs (my calves are muscular but huge), so I generally have difficulty with pants if they are the slightest bit narrow. My extra weight is mostly legs, hips, and breasts.

I would gladly trade my belly for actually having hips and an ass. I'd even take the bigger legs as part of it. I have joked for awhile now that I am "baster" shaped. I have a huge top, larger-than-I'd-like middle, and then I taper down to nothing. :D

I don't hate my shape, other than my huge calves and the way my breasts hang. I'd just like to be several sizes smaller. Having a waist is all well and good, but when everything is huge, it doesn't matter all that much.

I also dislike how my breasts hang. And wish I were several sizes smaller. I would definitely take the waist, though. Especially as the experts say that belly fat is the most unhealthy. (However, I got it through stress, as I used to have more of a waist, so I'm not really sure how I'll ever be able to get rid of it or redistribute it.) I definitely can empathize with you!

I'm on a bunch of meds that cause weight gain, so while I have been trying, I don't think too much weight loss is in my near future. Stress certainly doesn't help since I am a stress eater. Right now my goal is to just not gain anymore. If I can't lose, at least I can keep myself from gaining anymore hopefully.

Hope you can get rid of some/redistribute some, if that is what you want. I wish we could all be happy with our bodies.

Damn, I'm a fat girl and I carry most of my weight in my belly, back, and breasts, and I think I'd rather weigh the same as I do now and have a defined waist, big hips, and a big butt than just be average weight but my same shape, which is, yeah, big boobs, big belly, and no butt or hips to speak of. Must be a grass is always greener thing.

I totally agree on jumpsuits. If clothing requires me to get almost naked to go to the bathroom I do not want it thank you very much. And now so often I see what I think is a cute summer dress but it turns out to be a little jumpsuit lol.

Agh, I hate seeing cute dresses on the rack and realizing they are jumpsuits. I'll think about altering them to convert them into dresses, but the really cute ones tend to have lace on the bottom and it feels like too much of a hassle to deal with that.

I'm pretty short and chubby, but I have really skinny legs. I look so much better in skinny jeans than bootcut. Granted, I don't go *super* skinny, but yeah. It gives me a bit of a shape, as opposed to the dumpy the dump truck look I get with bootcut.

I agree with you fully about jumpsuits, though.

Ah, that makes total sense. I have big calves, so bootcut just makes my legs look long and makes it not so obvious that my calves are disproportionate.

Lol. I'm on the plus size side and I love skinny jeans. They show off my ass. My husband has seen dudes and a few women checking me out in them. So...don't assume.
