I really liked the movie. Until the end. I just can't buy that the aliens were able to be on Earth if they are allergic to water. I mean even when it isn't misty or raining, there is a lot of water present in our atmosphere. "At any moment, the atmosphere contains an astounding 37.5 million billion gallons of water, in the invisible vapor phase. This is enough water to cover the entire surface of the Earth (land and ocean) with one inch of rain." Link. I just can't imagine aliens being able to survive walking around if they can't handle water.

Iirc, one of the newscasts in the background theorized they were drones/scouts, so it was like District 9 where they didn't mean to be on earth... and the ones we saw were too stupid or sick to leave once something happened to the leadership.

They weren't "staying" they were sending scouts. The ones we saw were the ones left behind after they spent the night probably getting sicker and sicker.
