The zombies in izombie tan and dye their hair because the initial infection makes them pale and blonde and their goal is generally to blend in (the main character doesn't do either and other zombies call her on it a few times.)

The character in the secret has been seen to tan but doesn't dye his hair.

It's also in the world rules that the whole reason they consume brains is because if they don't that's when they'll really start to go full undead by losing their minds and that's when they start to look horrible. So as long as they keep eating they'll pretty much look like other living people.

It's all a bit silly but they did try to come up for explanations at least.

Though his hair is essentially the same when he's alive vs when he's a zombie so it'd put more attention on himself if he DID dye it haha
