It's when I live in big cities that I really appreciate the car-less life. You like gridlocks and sitting in traffic for hours?

The reason that cities are big and sprawling and have shitty public transit is because they were designed around the assumption that basically everyone would have a car. It was a specific choice that people made when they were building the cities that are like that. It's extremely possible to build cities that have good transit and walking and everything - we've actually been doing it for literally thousands of years.
