I was lucky to catch a couple Houndour before the event, but I never would have gotten to Houndoom without lots of walking. Now I'll either get it during the event or not long after. Ponyta I only had one of bc I hatched it, never saw one in the wild before the event.

I've been walking a Charmander for aaaages, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to speed that process up so I can focus on some other things for a while. But Charmander are still way less common than other Fire-types during the event, at least for me (even Cyndaquil!).

Yeah I feel like they need to seriously rebalance the game because it took me almost three months of walking a mile plus every day to evolve a Charizard and that is just ridiculous. It gets boring when you've caught everything that commonly spawns in your area and nothing new ever shows up.

I agree. I was initially really excited about the walking feature, but it turned out to be actually not that helpful.

I suppose it's better than nothing - technically you can evolve anything if you've caught it once, instead of trying to find or hatch a dozen or more, say, Onix. But it's still very slow. And I'd love to see unusual Pokémon a little more often.
