I feel this would have more impact on me if I knew what a babadook was. Is it some sort of waterfowl? It should be under the natural history section? I think they may have mentioned it on Springwatch, but that could have been something else I'm misremembering. Their flock numbers are recovering in N. Ireland, right? Majestic flocks of babadooks on Belfast Lough? The DUP want to cull them? Am I close at all?

It's a horror movie, and the monster(sort of) therein.

I'm not sure that rules out waterfowl. Certainly does not rule our a connection with the DUP. If we're talking monsters from horror stories, then the DUP is pretty much a lock for the role.
