102. My brother's in the Fire Emblem fandom. He's...definitely not an yaoi fan, so I don't think he'd ship it, but there ARE FE fans out there.....

112. Awwww...Lloyd and Kratos. Kratos was my favorite character in that game...the poor guy went through so much. I loved his redemption in the end. (I need to play through that game again.)

156. My brother's girlfriend is a fan of Godchild and INSISTS it's not BL. Yami no Matsuei, too. Yet in the RP I'm in it's really hard to miss. I don't know anymore. @_@ (I haven't read much of either, although what I read of Yami no Matsuei....uhhh, yeah, I dunno how she hates yaoi with a burning passion and likes that series. Goes over my head.)

Too Big #7: Personally, I'm just bugged by people that twist characterizations of characters for pairings in general. If character's personalities have to be drastically changed (without character development that makes sense being the caused) for pairings, it shouldn't be done. To me characterization comes first, THEN pairings. I'd rather have my characters never be in relationships than make them OOC. (Luckily, I don't think this has really been a problem in general with me...)

And she must have skipped the raep that was kind of the focus of Hisoka's entire backstory (not to mention all the times Muraki appears onscreen), but... what? How do you do that? I just -- what?

I can kind of (if I tilt my head and squint at the situation very hard) see how if someone was going solely on the anime and was very, very stoned and/or drunk, they could maybe kind of miss that there was rape and not just bloody death. I guess.

Actually, reading through all of the comments to this secret, I'm starting to think much of fandom misunderstands what "subtext" means.

Yeah, just by the anime it's pretty easy to miss what's going on... especially if you watch it in Japanese without subtitles, in which case I guess it's possible to miss out on most things besides there being a guy with purple eyes and wtf a doctor?

Also, thanks about the icon. One of my favorites.

I have. No idea. I mean, I'm saying this as someone who's not a yaoi fan (although I ship some slash pairings) but I could totally see how the two main leads could be shipped. I just...I don't get her sometimes. XD;;;

I'm not sure how she could miss it in Godchild either.

I won't spoil it in case you want to read it eventually. But it's pretty damn obvious that Cain and Riff love each other and the series ends with them together.

Yeah, it's obvious in the RP I'm in, too...and while I don't know the series THAT well, I know the muns involved aren't just crazy slashers that slash everything in sight? So it's pretty obvious to me there's a basis for it. Like I said, I really don't get my brother's girlfriend. XDD
