109. WHile I agree with your belief that it won't have a "love redeems" ending, I don't think that's because it's shonen, I think it's because of Aizens character... I honestly Do Not See the man as redeemable. He's going for that Golden-God Throne (in Beijing), and people who don't see it that way... well, you are of course entitled to that. I mean it. I just can't agree with it. Aizen is a villain right down to his deluded, pompous core. This is what I believe. Ain't no love saving him now.

114. Are you talking about those Philipino prionsers in that prison which is run by a man who uses it as his own private amusement park? Because if you are I don't think it's enthusiasm guiding them as much as the prospect of not being beaten so much for supper that evening if they perform well.

117. Very well, then I will be frightened for you. For that shit is creepy.

121. ... Damn you for making me see that. OH WELL MORE FODDER FOR HARU/TSUNA for me ho ho ho oh god why do I even try to resist the gay in this manga.

Also I must file one small protest here: Kyoko seems a bit more clever than Nana does.

122. Oh goodness, that scene. If it was ment to be heartfelt and emotional and tug on our heartstrings and if you saw that in that scene then I am sorry for this, I really truly am, I truly am, but all it made me do was laugh out loud and go "Holy shit that's a lot of Ho Yay". Handholding. "I looked everywhere for you". CRYING AFTER BEING TOTALLY PEACHY AND DANDY, it was just... overload. Way overload.

127. Is the man from that old manga by the Detective Conan author?

136. Those are a lot of wedding photos. How many can Haseo get it on with exactly?

143. I think that unless they take their shipping very seriously, you can be open about this desire as long as you don't get all wanky about it. Present your opinion with dignity and grace, and no rightthinking fan has any actual right to get pissed at you.

146. Gainax can be such bastards, can't they?

147. Agreed.

148. AGREED SO DAMN MUCH. I would take being Freakazoid over being Harry Potter ANY GOD DAMN DAY.

161. Secret maker is either trying to get a rise out of people, or just have very screwed up priorities. Well, I disagree: people falling in love over the internet is cute at least. If you're planning some extravagant boldfaced murder spree across America (unless you're thinking of just roaming all over the place and throw paint or strawberry juice in peoples faces and clothes, which I'm neutral to), then you're just proving how bad you need to became an hero yourselves. You are not unique, provocative or groundbreaking. You're boring and dull if taking others lives is the best way you can imagine spending your time in.

165. Masi Oka and who's that lady?

t!b 2. Holy crap is that doujin or what oh god WHY DID I STOP READING GOKUSEN after finishing like forty chapters in one evening oh dear lord.

Uhm. Sorry for not having anything related to your secret, I just... think I need to pick Gokusen back up.

LOL She's Katie Couric. Used to be on NBC's Today, but now is the main anchor of CBS.

Then I ask ye, why oh why does this secret exist. What is the connection I'm not grasping here, or are you as lost in this as I am?

*shrugs* I honestly have no idea why the OP ships them. There might be a reason for it to be a secret, but I don't know what. All I know is who the two people are.

Re: 165

(Anonymous) 2008-05-31 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
And what makes you think the OP ships them?

109 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-05-30 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think we see enough of his motivations to know if he is or not. I see where you're coming from on this; I just prefer to think otherwise. I don't necessarily want a happy ending, just an "Aizen realizes how much he's fucked his lieutenant's shit up" moment.

Re: 109 OP

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Meeh... I think that considering all the stuff we've seen him pull, it jsut doesn't feel like Kubo can pull a believable "lol he actually had feelings inside his heart all along" without making it seem a bit forced. I mean, in the most recent chapter SPOILER SPOILER OH GOD SPOILER THIS WAY he sees his captain slowly bleed to what I presume is his death, and if he doesn't respect Shinji, a man of intelligence and loyalty to his crew, I dunno SPOILERS END HERE CAPS LOCK SPEAK THE TRUTH... I can't see him sympathize with someone like Momo, just because she loved him. Sure, like you say, we may not have seen enough to totally make the call yet, Kubo may have some surprises in store for us, but I doubt it.

That, and I'm the worlds biggest Shinji fanboy and I want to see captain Whaleteeth deprettify Aizens face. Hard.

(Anonymous) 2008-05-30 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
... I hadn't read the most recent chapters (last I read was -102) but I'm pretty much immune to spoilers. This intrigues me.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
-100 was just released on onemanga. Aizen is one stonecold killer in them, is all I'm saying.

[identity profile] elysian-stars.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
114 - You beat me to it. I'd thought everyone knew what the real deal is with the dancing convicts.

136 - Any of the female characters (minus Natsume), or Endrance. So...nine?

161 - It sounds to me like the OP is going through some kind of angry teen rebel phase :/

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I must admit, I too was taken with them at first. I thought that "hey, maybe it's just some extracurricular activity they do, maybe it's innocent". Then I did like... ten minutes worth of searching on Google. Truth is depressing.

Also, that is one hell of a little cyberpimp right there. I like how they even added an option for ... whatever you can call Endrance now.

And I suppose I should be more sympathetic then. It's not like I haven't romantisiced death before... I wonder if this is what hindsight feels like.

[identity profile] elysian-stars.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Same here. When you see a group of people dancing like that, you assume it's something positive and fun, so the truth comes as a nasty shock.

Haha, the Endrance option is half the reason I started playing the games.

My hindsight makes me feel less sympathy, not more; I wish somebody had given me a good shake and told me to find a more original way of rebelling. But then again, even if a thousand people have experienced something, it'll still feel new for the 1,001st person.

My, that's a lot of pissy rage you have there.

127. Is the man from that old manga by the Detective Conan author?

Kaitou Kid from the series Magic Kaito, yup.

[identity profile] arashi-tenkai.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's FILIPINO, dude. And as I heard, the inmates do it voluntarily. It keeps them amused and gives them something to do. So far, violence in that jail has lessened ever since this began.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, sorry about that! And well, the way I heard it is that the warden is doing it for his own entertainment and is basically forcing the inmates to play along with the program. Now, as for which one of us is right, I don't know. Looking around on the internet, I see articles who claim that life has been improved in the new prison ever since the dancing started, and others who claim they're being abused and beaten. As for who's telling the truth, well... it doesn't seem to me you could reform all these prisoners by song and dance alone, and my internal cynic tells me that crime will most likely find a way to start smuggling drugs inside the jail walls again.
