I don't think you have to apologize, dude. Like I said, I think you're being a LITTLE biased, but it's understandable. Just saying you were pro GG is enough to piss a lot of people off, it's natural to be kind of defensive.

I was pissed off at the time about the anti-gamer bullshit. The GG fiasco was mostly contained to it's own little bubbles, but the anti-gamer crap spread fucking everywhere. Like, no, fuck you, I'm not going to be ashamed about being a consumer of the one entertainment industry on the planet where Being Gay is Actually Okay, and the one medium where there's such a thing as custom protagonists, and an industry that actually has a pretty decent percentage of high-ranking women writers and artists and directors and journalists and so on. Damn right I support the work of people like Amy Hennig and David Gaider and Michael Kirkbride.

I can't find anything to disagree with here. solid comment. anger seems reasonable - for me the episode of Law and Order still stings me to this day - and very few of us got out of the GG mess happier than when we went in.

I don't mean to apologise for my views, I got into the GG thing because I feel my views were valid and needed more people like me to express them - as opposed to leaving it to... shit I can't remember the guys name... fuck this is going to itch my brain... he was a scumbag, and every point he made was "Zoe Quinn this" and "Brianna Wu that" - Anyway, I feel OK about my own viewpoints, but I am sorry for coming across bias. That bugs me and is something I will have to work on.

You worry too much about how you come across, man. You're allowed to not express yourself 100% perfectly all the time, or to pick sides on issues. It's not like your opinion on something is invalid just because you aren't perfectly objective. :

Not invalid, no, but being as objective as possible is the goal. And this this always ends in an argument, and argument where not expressing yourself perfectly is inevitably used as a "Ha! You don't know what your talking about! I Win!" And that 'Win' condition quite often is taken as proof that I am a sexist bigot who supports rape and death threats. I'm allowed to express myself imperfectly but it's a really really bad idea.

But you are quite right, I do very often worry way way too much about how I come across. I worry. It's what I do well.

All the same, I do hope you don't think less of me for my opinions on this matter.

Anyone who thinks you're a sexist bigot who supports rape and death threats is a moron with no reading comprehension or critical thinking skills, so fuck them. Courting their good opinion is as useless as trying to win the respect of someone who thinks that all sex is rape, or that atheists should be stoned to death. It's impossible, and trying to force yourself into a shape that would never offend anyone is just going to hurt you more in the long run.

No one worthwhile would read your confession (or anything else you've ever posted here, even the more trolly stuff) and think "woah this guy is a crazy bigot who thinks female journalists should be raped and killed!" No one rational would make that leap.

If anything I think more of you, bc you have the balls to own up to having supported a controversial movement and the ability to articulate why you did.

Amy Hennig was the first game dev I ever knew anything about, bc of the special extra features with the Legacy of Kain games. Teen!me thought she was pretty much the coolest person on the planet, and I wanted to work for Crystal Dynamics just bc it seemed so awesome.

She's so amazing. (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡

Yeah, the first I heard about her was when she was getting the screw job. Man she got shafted.

First dev I ever knew anything about was Peter Molyneux. The first thing I ever knew about him was he was a fucking liar. But still I loved his passion, and he really is a visionary. It's just a shame the tech could never keep up with his ideas or his mouth.

You know, I think Molyneux has never meant to lie about what's in the games. I think he's got no filter and his PR people and his publishers just totally fucking fail to edit what he says to fit with what will actually be in the finished product.

Like, Fable's announced and he's over there in an interview talking about all this amazing stuff and you know he WANTED to put it in the game, maybe they even started programming it and scrapped it. But they ran out of time and funds and it didn't fit, and they've got this guy one record talking about shit that won't be in the game.

Most companies and devs play shit a lot closer to the chest before launch.

No, I know molyneux isn't a liar, it is exactly how you say, he dreams big and the tech and money cant keep up.
