Arwen was cool in the first movie. I mean, a little bit Miss Perfect, but Aragorn is Mr. Perfect so it's fair enough, and it's a mass improvement from her role in the books (in other words, she was actually in the films). But the third movie definitely went stupid with her. It got pretty pathetic.

I agree. WTF was up with the "Arwen is tied to the Ring" stuff they didn't even bother trying to explain?

I always figured it meant that, since she couldn't leave Middle Earth anymore, whatever happened to Middle Earth was going to happen to her too since she was stuck there. So if sauron got the Ring back and wrecked everyone's shit, Arwen would have no escape and would be wrecked along with everything else.

That could be. I could buy that. But the movie made it look like she was having an actual physical response and was already dying because of the Ring. That was the part that was dumb to me.

Agreed. I was very much here for her being in the movies more but that 'tied to the ring' subplot was just weird and only done to give her something to do. I still love her though but that bit of writing was definitely not my favourite thing.
