As for smells I just find generally pleasant, many common ones - lavender, cinnamon, etc. A weird one that always takes me back in a sort of bittersweet (mostly sad) way is that brassy smell you get when you open up the case of a brass instrument. It is a permanent smell in band locker rooms, but sometimes I'll randomly get a whiff of something similar somewhere. Also smells that smell a lot like people I used to know, especially one of my exes...

I love honeysuckle and gardenia. At Christmas time, I'm always burning balsam and cedar candles.
Bath an Body works makes this really nice eucalyptus mint scent that is good in a bubble bath.
Odd scents would probably be diesel fuel always reminds me of my dad.
Re: Smells
I don't like floral scents unless it's coming from a bunch of flowers.
I find cheap shampoo really attractive, probably because my BFF's hair has smelled like the same cheap shampoo for the last 20+ years. I guess when someone you love smells like one specific thing you get attached.

Strong scents mostly are a turn off. Floral scents. Coffee (I love the taste of coffee, just don't love the smell).
Re: Smells
I hate the smells of coffee, grapefruit, tea tree oil, bay rum and this one brand of dish soap.
Re: Smells
Also citrus smells. Orange/lemon/grapefruit. I don't like things to be super-sweet, i like tangy and sharp.
Nag Champa. The only incense I can tolerate.
Re: Smells
I also love the smell of cold cellars, rain (especially on not asphalt) and several herbs and spices (especially basil).
I really hate smelling like food myself. Smokers who just smell like cold smoke are quite unpleasant and people who smell like alcohol are pretty disguting to me. But my most hated smell is something our garden is infested with: Stinkhorns. I never wanted to know what it would smell like during the zombie apocalypse. Now I know.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-21 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)Also cooking smells--pretty much any.
Hate: lavender essential oil, the smell that tangerines leave on your skin when you peel them, callery pear flowers
