Unfortunately yeah, cons tend to attract the weirder people and you get a ton of people who are pretty ignorant or uncaring of how to function in polite society. Obviously not all con-goers are like that, but enough are so that it's a known problem.

I hope that didn't stop you from cosplaying elsewhere or with friends if that's your thing. Not everyone is like those people.

That's terrible. I'm sorry you went through that, and I'm sorry you no longer felt comfortable cosplaying freely after that.
Sadly, there are jerks everywhere, and at the same time, not everybody at cons is an inappropriate dickwad. But I can understand why you'd no longer want to cosplay like that.
I hope that you still find joy in doing it, though, and have people around you that are fun and supportive.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's the unfortunate reality that you need to stick to a group to fend of the creeps. Don't let them stop you from doing what you love. If you ever feel like cosplaying a "pretty" character, try to think of ways to stay away from people like that rather than just giving up.

Jesus, some people. :/ I'm sorry that happened to you, OP. Don't let the creeps get in the way of your enjoyment. If you feel safer, you could always do group cosplay to fend off the creeps.

I'm sorry you were harrassed by those pieces of shit, OP. I'm sure you worked hard on your costume and it's a shame those assholes never learned about personal space and boundaries. Don't let the creepsters stop you from cosplaying though. I wear classic lolita to cons and I'm completly covered from head to toe, but I still get freaking creeps trailing me. I feel safer when I'm with my friends and we all protect each other from creeps.

And I know that feel. There's a few scantily-clad characters I've wanted to cosplay as in the past, but I've always been afraid to actually go through with it because of the potentional negative attention. ;(

I hope you reported it. Cons have security for this very reason (well, among others, but this is like top three) and yet it seems hardly anyone ends up reporting harassment.
