Agreed. It seems to me to be a combination of the "there's only one right way to present ____" thinking, which is itself an outgrowth of binary absolutism.

It's as if shades of gray and variant experiences are anathema to a large segment of the population now.

Don't forget that no one makes mistakes! Any and all hurtful words and actions are windows into the hateful pedo-soul of the world's worst offenders, and no amount of 'sorry' will stop some vengeful sixteen year old from digging through three years of archives to that one time -insert username- wore a bindi.
