I approve of the image choice, secret maker :D.

As for the secret itself, yeah, I get that. Sometimes the fandom is the main thing that keeps people in touch, and when they drift away, it does make it harder to really connect over anything else.

And on a broader note, it's just sad to see a community of fans go quiet in general, too.

I feel you, OP. I have lost friends due to changing interest in fandoms, and it's disappointing. If you'd asked me previously, I would've said we had enough in common outside fandom and were good enough friends that this wouldn't happen. But realistically, when a friend gets really caught up in a shiny new fandom you're not into, that's a big part of their online life you won't be sharing anymore. It's sad and I miss them.

I feel you, anon. I've lost touch with people I used to have great convos with because our fandom tastes started to diverge, and... well, it sucks.

I lol'd at the picture choice, but I totally get it. It can kind of feel lonely, but then you either have to find other interests with your friends, or else find other friends to share fandoms.

I know how that feels. It's sad but pretty common when you share only one fandom.

S-S-S-Same

I completely understand. I actually lost a dear friend for over a decade irl because she switched out of fandom completely (we've had different fandoms before, but she left fandom completely), and out of writing for a long while. It was a shock that the friendship ended, because I always thought we had more to talk about and share, but it turns out we didn't.
