Re: Not just Guilty Pleasures... Shameful pleasures
My current fandom has expanded my likes and made me a bit confused as to what I read for non-sexual pleasure and what I read for sexual pleasure. Like, if your point of view character in a torture fic is the perpetrator, and the way they describe it is sexual, is it shameful to get turned on? Not by the idea of torturing per say but just by the language. I don't know, but I seem to have started to get turned on by those things whereas torture fics were always non-sexual for me before.
Re: Not just Guilty Pleasures... Shameful pleasures
Raised extremely catholic, oodles of guilt, ardent feminist, watches rough slavic gangbang porn where she pictures herself as one of the guys. No, I don't know why the girls have to be Slavic.
Also the torture stuff is very much in her wheel house. She loves torture fic where the POV is the torturer. I would say, and I feel she would agree, that no, there is no shame in being turned on by that scenario.
