i just saw someone on tumblr claim it is offensive to whitewash white people if they have a tan.

and ofc the obligatory "you homophonic fucks should stop writing het fanfic about this (head)canon gay pairing"

you know... draw them with a lighter skin colour... making them look white when they, uh, are a different shade of white.... it's tan white people erasure, i suppose

I mean, that makes the drawing inaccurate, but it isn't removing representation of a minority character. But I guess if someone really likes a character with darker white skin (Mediterranean descent or maybe Jewish or something) they'd want to see that retained?

yeah i can see that, it's just calling it white washing is a gross dare i say "appropriation" of a real issue
